Finnish tanks for Russia?

(B2) The Finnish armor manufacturer, Patria, is currently in negotiations for the supply of armored vehicles to Russia. A " correspondence is in progress Just confirmed Jukka Holkeri, head of marketing at Patria, to our colleagues from the daily Helsingin Sanomat.

Contacts were made during the "Eurosatory" show this summer. And immediately afterwards Commander-in-Chief Nikolai Makarov sent a "written request" for information on the vehicles. According to some indiscretions, Russia could be interested in buying 500 vehicles or even less. But probably with a technological exchange. And the version concerned could be the Patria NEMO, with a simple mortar turret. " The Russians are clearly emphasizing that they want to be the responsible manufacturer, which means it would be on licensed manufacturing, or assemblyexplains Holkeri.

The Finnish manufacturer suffered a setback with the cancellation of a large part of the Slovenian order, out of 135 vehicles ordered, only the 30 already delivered will remain ordered, the rest of the order will be canceled. A consequence more of the Slovenian economic situation than of the corruption dispute involving the industrialist and Slovenian officials. (also read: Patria / Slovenia case: the leaders in prison).
