The Eulex Kosovo mission is recruiting

(BRUSSELS2) The Rule of Law mission (EULEX) in Kosovo is looking for two people with a sharp profile, one on secondment to serve as "Special Assistant to the Head of Mission", the other can also be recruited on contract as "Special Adviser of the head of mission". Positions to be filled as soon as possible. Application deadline: February 8. Obligatory nationality either of an EU Member State, or of a third State approved to participate in the mission (eg USA).

The assistant's main mission is: "to assist the Head of Mission in his/her functions by ensuring a smooth running and coordination of the Office of the Head of Mission (...), to maintain an intra-office filing system and to ensure a smooth and thorough processing of memos and correspondence; draft documents on behalf of the Head of Mission; to summarize information and prepare briefing materials for the Head of Mission; (...) To brief visitors, guests, partners and interested parties on relevant aspects of the Mission. Etc. It is necessary to have a university degree and a professional experience of six or seven years.

The function of special adviser is defined by different aspects: "advise the Head of Mission in matters related to the execution of the Mission's mandate and to assist her/him in carrying out her/his functions; (...) accompany the Head of Mission to external meetings, as appropriate, and provide readouts of these meetings; assist the Head of Mission in clearing Mission reports; act in representation of the Head of Mission liaising with external counterparts as delegated. Trustworthy woman It is necessary to have a university degree and ten years of professional experience.

In both cases, a perfect command of English is necessary as well as "Secret UE" accreditation. A good knowledge of the security and cultural situation in the Balkans, of a local language, of the fight against corruption, ... is a "plus".

As a reminder, the head of mission is of German nationality.
