English/Anglais HS2011-E001-009 17 March 2011 Her Majesty's Canadian Ship (HMCS) CHARLOTTETOWN Leading Seaman (LS) Mikael Tardif hoists the NATO Flag as HMCS Charlottetown joins Standing NATO Maritime Group 1. HMCS Charlottetown departed its home port of Halifax on Wednesday, 02 March 2011 as part of the Canadian military's contribution to the Government of Canada's response to the situation in Libya. HMCS Charlottetown is now operating under Operation Mobile with Canada's NATO partners in the Mediterranean Sea. Its presence demonstrates Canada's willingness and ability to assist in North Africa by creating a sustained maritime presence in the region while providing a range of readily deployable capabilities to the Government of Canada. Le NCSM CHARLOTTETOWN a quitt son port dÕattache, Halifax, le mercredi 2 mars 2011, pour participer lÕintervention militaire du Canada en Libye. Le NCSM CHARLOTTETOWN prend part lÕopration Mobile avec les partenaires de lÕOTAN du Canada dans la mer Mditerrane. Sa prsence dmontre la volont et la capacit du Canada prter main-forte en Afrique du Nord en assurant une prsence maritime prolonge dans la rgion et en offrant des forces prtes se dployer.
