Iraq buys Czech

(BRUSSELS2) Iraq could buy firearms from the Czech producer Česka zbrojovka. At least that is the sentiment of the arms manufacturer's sales director Jiří Škrabal, after Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's visit to Prague last week. In particular, Iraqis showed interest in the new CZ 805 Bren assault rifle, the CZ Scorpion EVO3 rifle and the CZ 75 P-07 Duty pistol.

The real issue of the Iraqi visit was the purchase of two-seater Aero L-159 training and tactical support aircraft. Value of the contract: approximately 750 million euros (19,2 billion crowns). Which represents for the manufacturer Aero Vodochody a good air balloon with the hiring of 750 people. For the Czech government, it is also a good deal. Because of the 28 aircraft ordered by the Iraqis, 24 will be new and 4 others have already been ordered by the Ministry of Defence.
