HMCS Charlottetown departed its home port of Halifax on Wednesday , 02 March 2011 as part of the Canadian military's contribution to the Government of Canada's response to the situation in Libya. HMCS Charlottetown is now operating under Operation Mobile with Canada's NATO partners in the Mediterranean Sea. Its presence demonstrates Canada's willingness and ability to assist in North Africa by creating a sustained maritime presence in the region while providing a range of readily deployable capabilities to the Government of Canada. HMCS CHARLOTTETOWN is taking part in Operation Mobile with Canada's NATO partners in the Mediterranean Sea.
